US trade mission to visit India next month

Washington: The India-US World Affairs Institute will lead a certified trade mission to India in collaboration with the US Department of Commerce later this year.

The trade mission will visit Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi between November 26 and December 3, a media release announced.It will offer US companies in several high technology sectors the opportunity to experience the substantial opportunities that exist in India first-hand.The mission will focus on sectors such as aerospace, defence and homeland security, civil aviation, energy, higher education, information and communications technologies and life sciences and food technology, among others.

Cameron hoping to forge new special relationship with visit to India

The Prime Minister is flying out to Delhi this week – and he means business.

When David Cameron stands on the grounds of India’s best-known IT company this week and makes his pitch for building a “new special relationship” between Britain and India, he will no doubt have in mind the thoughts of a previous visitor to the Infosys campus.

It was after visiting the Bangalore headquarters of the IT pioneer that the Pulitzer-winning author, Thomas Friedman, came up with both the idea and the title of his book, The World is Flat. The idea contained within his treatise on the globalised economy was that in the interconnected business world of the 21st century, all players were equal. India, in particular, had lots to offer.

Multisector Trade Mission from Italian System of Chambers of Commerce

Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore and Pune

The Indo-Italian Chamber, in collaboration with Unioncamere e Vicenza Qualità, the Special Agency for Promotion of Vicenza’s Chamber of Commerce, is organizing a multi-sector trade mission of 40-45 Italian companies to India.

The mission is scheduled to visit 2 Indian cities: Mumbai will be the first halt, while the second will be New Delhi, Bangalore or Pune depending upon the industry sector.
The mission will have on the one hand the aim of presenting Italian companies to the opportunities offered by the Indian market and also to arrange targeted b2b meetings with interested local companies.
The participating Italian companies will be mainly from the following industrial sectors:
– Furniture (home and contract)
– Machinery and Industrial Automation
– Renewable Energy and Environment
– Building & Construction
– Components for Infrastructure

The EU India Chambers will lead a Reverse Trade Mission to Spain

At the request of AMEC(www.amec.es), The EU India Chambers will lead a Reverse Trade Mission to Spain  comprising of Indian Companies from packaging and food technology industry as delegates to  Barcelona from May 11-15, 2009.
The trade mission aims to

  • familiarise/appreciate the advances in packaging and food technology industry. By visiting Two leading trade fairs, viz Hispack & Bta. being held simultaneously at Barcelona
  • prepare the potential Indian visitor’s agendas with Spanish companies exhibiting or not in HISPACK BTA to foment commercial exchanges between both countries.
  • Discussion forum in the form of seminars, Technical sessions, pre arranged B2B meetings etc between Indian &Spanish companies, etc.

The profile of the participating  Indian companies  on the packaging and food processing sector must be:

  • – Importers or Distributors of food processing machinery.
  • – Food Processors
  • – Food Processing Machinery Importers or Distributors
  • – Packaging machinery importers or distributors

It is proposed to enlist 20-25  eligible indian companies for participation in the Trade Mission as delegates from amongst the application received.

From the enlisted companies 15 companies are expected to be selected by the AMEC after due verification process.

The selected companies would be invited to join the Trade Mission whose travel and stay would be taken care of by the overseas organisers.  Usual disclaimers will apply and details of travel schedule etc would be provided to selected candidates.

Interested companies need to express their interest in the prescribed application form with a  non refundable registration fee of Rs 25, 000  payable by a DD or Ch on Mumbai in favour of The Council of EU chambers of Commerce in India.  As a rule applications from members of the EU India Chambers only will be considered and non member applicants have a choice to become members by completing the Membership application formalities separately for which please contact office@euindiachambers.com
